Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Reservoir Engineer with more than 7 years of experience to join an onshore brownfield gas development project in South Sumatra, Indonesia, starting in January 2025. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in reservoir engineering, including offshore and onshore design experience. This role offers a direct contract with our end client, and while the project is long-term, the contract duration will be confirmed soon.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead reservoir engineering efforts for an onshore brownfield gas development project, focusing on reservoir modeling, simulation, and optimization.
- Perform reservoir performance analysis, production forecasting, and well planning to optimize field development.
- Utilize advanced reservoir engineering techniques to analyze and develop strategies for maintaining or increasing production in existing fields.
- Develop and manage reservoir simulation models, ensuring they are aligned with actual field performance and project objectives.
- Conduct reservoir monitoring, pressure transient analysis, and material balance studies to assess reservoir behavior and predict future performance.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate reservoir data into reservoir management plans and development strategies.
- Provide technical guidance on well testing, production enhancement, and reservoir monitoring programs.
- Work closely with geologists, geophysicists, and drilling teams to design and execute reservoir characterization studies and field development plans.
- Recommend and implement enhanced oil recovery (EOR) techniques when applicable to maximize reservoir productivity.
- Contribute to the development of asset-wide strategies for managing reservoir performance and production optimization.
- Prepare and present technical reports, project documentation, and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Mentor and support junior reservoir engineers, sharing technical knowledge and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards in all reservoir engineering activities.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, or a related field.
- More than 7 of experience in reservoir engineering, with both offshore and onshore project experience.
- Expertise in reservoir modeling, simulation, and optimization using industry-standard software (e.g., Eclipse, CMG, or others).
- In-depth knowledge of reservoir engineering techniques including pressure transient analysis, material balance, and well performance analysis.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing reservoir management strategies for gas fields, particularly in brownfield development.
- Experience with enhanced oil recovery (EOR) techniques and their application in gas reservoirs.
- Strong understanding of subsurface geology and geophysics, with the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to optimize reservoir performance and production.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience reporting technical findings to senior management and stakeholders.
- Prior experience working on brownfield gas development projects is highly preferred.
- Willingness to be based in South Sumatra, Indonesia, for the duration of the project.
