Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Inspection Engineer with more than 7 years of experience to join our onshore brownfield gas development project in South Sumatra, Indonesia, starting in January 2025. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in offshore and onshore inspection and design, ensuring quality and safety across all stages of the project. This position offers a direct contract with our end client, with a long-term contract duration to be confirmed.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee inspection activities for onshore brownfield gas development projects.
- Perform detailed inspection and quality control checks for mechanical, civil, structural, and pipeline systems.
- Review and approve inspection plans, schedules, and reports.
- Conduct inspections during construction, installation, and commissioning phases to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with project teams to resolve technical issues identified during inspections.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for all inspection activities, including non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective actions.
- Develop and implement inspection procedures and methodologies aligned with industry standards.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and contractors regarding inspection best practices.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards during inspection activities.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, to ensure inspection activities align with the project schedule.
- Provide detailed inspection reports and updates to senior management and stakeholders.
- Conduct risk assessments related to inspections and ensure mitigation strategies are implemented.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- More than 7 years of experience in inspection engineering, with a focus on both offshore and onshore projects.
- Strong knowledge of inspection techniques, standards, and codes, including API, ASME, ISO, and other relevant regulations.
- Experience in inspecting pipelines, mechanical systems, structures, and equipment during construction, installation, and commissioning phases.
- Proficiency in using inspection and quality control software and tools.
- In-depth understanding of materials, welding, coatings, and corrosion inspection.
- Strong experience with inspection management, non-destructive testing (NDT), and quality assurance/quality control processes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities to manage and guide inspection teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to be based in South Sumatra, Indonesia, for the duration of the project.
