Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Planning Engineer with more than 7 years of experience to join our onshore brownfield gas development project in South Sumatra, Indonesia, starting in January 2025. The successful candidate will have experience in both offshore and onshore project planning, with a focus on design and execution. This is a long-term direct contract opportunity with our end client.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage the project schedule for the onshore brownfield gas development project.
- Lead and coordinate the planning activities across all phases of the project, including design, construction, commissioning, and close-out.
- Collaborate with project managers and other engineers to ensure project timelines are aligned with design, procurement, and construction phases.
- Establish detailed project plans, milestones, and critical paths to ensure successful project delivery within budget and on time.
- Monitor and analyze project performance against the schedule, identifying any potential delays or risks and providing mitigation strategies.
- Track and report project progress to senior management and stakeholders, ensuring transparency in project status.
- Provide regular updates and forecast project schedules, ensuring corrective actions are implemented if delays are anticipated.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with external and internal stakeholders, including subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
- Prepare and review progress reports, including project timelines, schedules, and resource utilization.
- Conduct risk assessments and schedule analysis, making recommendations for adjustments when required.
- Assist in the preparation of project proposals and the negotiation of timelines with clients and contractors.
- Ensure compliance with project documentation, including timely updates to schedules, work breakdown structures (WBS), and project reporting tools.
- Develop and implement project planning processes and best practices to enhance project execution and delivery.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
- More than 7 years of experience in planning and scheduling for large-scale energy projects, particularly in onshore or brownfield gas development projects.
- Strong experience with both offshore and onshore planning, including design and construction stages.
- Expertise in project management software, such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of project life cycles, scheduling techniques, and cost management.
- Demonstrated ability to create detailed project schedules, critical path analysis, and resource allocation plans.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and propose corrective actions to keep projects on track.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to report project status effectively to senior management and stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple project timelines simultaneously.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams, including engineering, construction, procurement, and client management.
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with a focus on delivering results within deadlines.
- Ability to be based in South Sumatra, Indonesia, for the duration of the project.
