Scope of Work

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Marine Engineer duties typically include the following activities, which can be undertaken independently or when assisting other Asset Team members:


  1. Communicate effectively within a multidiscipline design team to ensure project requirements and expectations are met.
  2. Assist the project team with the management and safe offshore execution in accordance with policies and procedures
  3. Implement engineering processes and procedures to ensure technical compliance to Petrofac's and Industry best practice engineering standards
  4. All work is performed in accordance with legislation, class, flag and within the Safety/Facility Management Systems.
  5. Ensure a high standard of safety is achieved and Environmental and Quality Assurance procedures are followed.
  6. Provide input to HIRAs, HAZOPs, risk assessments, method statements and other safety reviews as directed.
  7. Ensure all technical documents and data are prepared and structured in accordance with relevant design codes. standards and legislation.
  8. Ensure, as far as is practically possible, that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with agreed budget and schedule
  9. Ensure accurate daily, weekly, and monthly reports from third party are prepared and accurate.
  10. Participation, control and assurance of correct implementation all project related Management of Marine related MoC's (engineering and offshore execution) as per Petrofac Management of Change Processes
  11. Development, review and approval of project related procedures and methodologies
  12. Engineering discipline assistance with reviewing third party deliverables to ensure alignment with Petrofac's project and operational standards.


The postholder is expected to adhere to the Golden Rules of Safety (transitioning to The 9 Lifesaving Rules in 2020) and the Petrofac Values. The post holder is expected to undertake any tasks which may reasonably be expected within the scope of the position particularly as this is a new role.


Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualification in Engineering discipline;
  • Meet the requirements of Chartered Professional Engineer. Registered Professional Engineer.
  • Experience with FPSO mooring system installation and replacement
  • Experience with FPSO Flexible Flowline installation and replacement
  • Familiar with Capital Project Management of Change processes
  • Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET).
  • Strong commitment to Health Safety Environment & Quality procedures and initiatives
  • Offshore construction experience (mooring and riser installation)
