Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Contract Engineer with more than 7 years of experience to join an onshore brownfield gas development project in South Sumatra, Indonesia, starting in January 2025. The ideal candidate will have offshore and design experience, particularly in contract management for energy projects. This role offers a long-term direct contract with our end client, with contract duration details to be confirmed soon.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the contract management process for the onshore brownfield gas development project, from initiation to execution and closure.
- Review and draft contracts, ensuring compliance with project specifications, client requirements, and legal regulations.
- Work closely with the project team to manage the procurement and supply chain, ensuring contract terms and conditions are adhered to.
- Monitor contract performance, including the execution of change orders, variations, and claims, ensuring proper documentation and resolution of issues.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate with legal and project teams to resolve any disputes or contract-related issues promptly and efficiently.
- Conduct contract risk assessments and ensure appropriate mitigation measures are implemented.
- Ensure timely submission of contract deliverables and compliance with agreed-upon terms.
- Monitor and track all contract payments, ensuring that invoicing is accurate and aligned with contract terms.
- Provide reports and recommendations to senior management on contract status, potential risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Manage the negotiation and resolution of contract disputes, claims, and variations in a timely and effective manner.
- Advise the project team on contract issues, best practices, and legal implications related to contract management.
- Develop and implement contract management procedures, tools, and systems to improve efficiency and reduce risk.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Law, or a related field.
- More than 7 years of experience in contract management within the energy or oil and gas industry, with specific experience in both onshore and offshore projects.
- Proven experience managing contracts for brownfield gas development projects, including procurement, design, and construction phases.
- Strong knowledge of contract law, risk management, and industry standards related to energy projects.
- Experience with contract negotiation, administration, and dispute resolution.
- Familiarity with project management tools and contract management software (e.g., SAP, Aconex, Prolog).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple contracts and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a project-driven environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Willingness to relocate and be based in South Sumatra, Indonesia for the duration of the project.
