Scope of Work

Job Summary:

As a Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) Engineer for Piping and Pressure Vessels, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and reliability of these systems during the Operations Readiness phase. Your main role is to develop and implement RBI strategies that reduce operational risks and ensure compliance with all relevant standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement RBI strategies for piping and pressure vessels.
  • Perform detailed risk assessments to identify critical components and define inspection intervals.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams for integration into asset integrity plans.
  • Review and interpret technical documentation (drawings, specs, etc.).
  • Deliver RBI strategy documentation in line with project schedules.
  • Prepare and present RBI findings and recommendations to management.
  • Provide technical support and training on RBI practices.
  • Participate in safety reviews, audits, and hazard assessments.
  • Support inspection planning and procedure development.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors for RBI-related services.
  • Prepare and manage RFQs and purchase requests, as well as review RBI invoices.

Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
  • Master’s degree is a plus.

Certifications:

  • Certification in API 580/581 or equivalent RBI methodology is preferred.
  • Alternatively, at least 5 years of practical RBI experience.

Experience:

  • 5+ years in piping and pressure vessel inspection (oil & gas preferred).
  • At least 2 years in RBI management of upstream O&G assets.
  • FPSO experience is strongly preferred.
  • Offshore experience and EPC turn-key project background are pluses.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of ASTM, API, ASME, BS, NACE, ABS Class codes and standards.
  • Familiarity with Classification Society Rules for FPSOs is preferred.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment, inspection planning, and incident investigation.
