Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Piping Engineer with more than 7 years of experience to join our onshore brownfield gas development project in South Sumatra, Indonesia, set to begin in January 2025. The ideal candidate will have experience in both offshore and onshore piping design, with a strong background in project execution. The role is a direct contract with our end client, and while the project is expected to be long-term, the contract duration will be confirmed shortly.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead piping engineering activities for the onshore brownfield gas development project, ensuring high-quality design, fabrication, and installation.
- Provide technical expertise in the design and layout of piping systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
- Supervise and review the work of junior engineers and designers to ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, including mechanical, structural, and electrical teams, to ensure seamless integration of piping systems.
- Conduct feasibility studies, prepare design calculations, and develop piping material specifications.
- Oversee and manage the preparation of piping construction documents, such as drawings, isometrics, and material take-offs (MTOs).
- Ensure proper installation and commissioning of piping systems in accordance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Troubleshoot piping system issues during construction and commissioning phases and provide technical solutions.
- Monitor project progress, ensuring that work is completed on schedule and within budget.
- Ensure that all piping activities are conducted in compliance with HSE standards and best practices.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and vendors to ensure clear communication and effective project execution.
- Review and approve piping design documents and deliverables, ensuring conformance with project specifications.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- More than 7 years of experience in piping engineering, with at least 5 years in offshore and onshore gas development projects.
- Extensive experience in piping design, layout, and stress analysis, particularly in brownfield gas projects.
- Proficiency in piping design software (e.g., AutoCAD, PDMS, or similar tools).
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and codes (e.g., ASME, ANSI, API, etc.).
- Excellent leadership and team coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team and collaborating with different engineering disciplines.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- In-depth knowledge of HSE standards and their application in piping engineering.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to work in South Sumatra, Indonesia, for the duration of the project.
